My Testimony of how God Deliveraned me from Cigarettes!
Earlier in life and marriage, my husband and I decided to go out to a nightclub. That particular night, I had my first experience with smoking cigarettes. Following that experience I became gradually addicted to smoking cigarettes. For many, many years, my addiction grew out of control. Eventually, I found myself unable to stop smoking.
Over and over, I attempted to try different things to stop smoking, but nothing would work. As with most others smokers, I would stop and start. I just couldn't seem to kick the habit. After getting closer to God, I grew more and more tired of the struggle, shame and guilt of smoking. In my heart I truly desired to quit. Eventually, I realized that only God could deliver me from smoking.

I Can Tell You About God Grace & Mercy!
After admitting that I couldn't stop on my own!
I
began to pray sincerely to God to take away the craving for cigarettes. I said, "Lord, I don't want to smoke any more." Day after day I prayed and trusted God for deliverance. Although the taste would not go away, I just kept on praying, and praying, and praying.
My Deliverance Day (On October 29, 1989, Friday night at 9:30 pm.)
During a spiritually high moment in the Church service, a dear sister name Evangelist Salina Duberry stood up and gave a "Word of Knowledge" from the Lord to me. She said "the Lord revealed to her that I was a very heavy smoker, but that God was going to deliver me that same night if I truly wanted to give up smoking. In the excitement of the moment, all the Saints that were present began to gather around me to pray for my deliverance.
As they prayed for me, I felt something move from my stomach up into my throat. I then began to cough and gasp in tears until I felt the taste of cigarettes left my mouth. I'm a first-hand witness that God can deliver you from anything. I truly thank God for my deliverance.
In the midst of praying I raised my hands up to the Lord and said in my heart "take it away Lord", while the Saints continued to say "thank you Jesus." That very night, God took away the taste and desire for cigarettes! I just Praise His name for His goodness!
What was so amazing is that the Saints prayed a rather brief and simple prayer without even the "laying on of hands." God just already knew that I was ready to yield to His will for my deliverance.
The Saints made a circle around me. They kept saying "thank you Jesus". I in my heart I believed that God would miraculously heal me that night.
When I returned home that night, I took my last pack of cigarettes from my coat pocket and threw them away. The smell of cigarettes suddenly became unpleasant and annoying to me and for a few moments made me sick. Although God delivered me from smoking cigarettes, my husband continued to smoke. Still, I just kept thanking God for my deliverance! Praise His name!

My experiences with smoking cigarettes
God has taught me to show more compassion on others who are also addicted. I tell them all the time that God can deliver them. Some people listen to me while others disregard the warnings. Yet, I will still give my testimony to help encourage someone else to seek God for deliverance. Whether it's cigarettes, alcohol, gambling, etc., God can deliver anyone from anything. "God Can & He will" fix it for you. Believe and trust him at His Word. He will perform all you need Him to do for you! Hallelujah!
Down through the years the Lord has kept me in health.
This is the reason why we should thank God daily for his grace and mercy.
When you pray, be sincere.
God will set you free!
